Children of Promise Sponsor Trips: Journeys of the Heart
Hartung Hall, Room 104
Why would anyone give up a two-week vacation to travel halfway around the world to visit children living in dire circumstances? Good question. Come and meet two groups of Christians who did just that. Children of Promise child sponsors traveled to the Philippines and to Tanzania this past year to assist staff in interviewing sponsored children for program accountability. Built in to the experience was the opportunity to meet their own sponsored children, see first hand the pervasive poverty that engulfs them, and bask in the hope written on their little faces due to sponsorship. Listen to their stories, see their pictures, and dare to consider a similar experience for yourself. It will change your life. Paul Maxfield, executive director of Children of Promise, Children of Promise staff, and trip participants lead.
