CBH Upgrading in Africa
Church of God Ministries, Global Missions, CBH: Christians Broadcasting Hope
|
A seven-person team headed out today to upgrade the Christians Broadcasting Hope (CBH) capabilities in Africa. Led by John Walters, CBH/Mass Media coordinator, the group will travel to Kima, Kenya, as part of a major expansion of CBH’s efforts in East Africa.
The team is focusing heavily on completing renovation and expansion of the CBH studio facility located on the campus of Kima International School of Theology (KIST). While there, they will be training personnel, installing equipment, and teaching. In addition, they will also assist in ministry at KIST and with indigenous ministry efforts across the countryside.

Join CBH In the Holy Land
CBH: Christians Broadcasting Hope
|
|
By Jim Lyon, CBH ViewPoint
It has been my privilege to visit more than fifty countries in this world. I have stood in the shadows of the Eiffel Tower and on the Great Wall of China. I have watched the sunrise over the Taj Mahal and climbed to the feet of the famed statue of Christ the Redeemer overlooking Rio de Janeiro. From the spectacle of the African savannah to the sweep of Alaska’s wilderness, I have been moved by the grandeur of God’s creation. But in the whole wide world, there really is nothing like a glimpse of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives or the feel of a breeze sweeping up the hillside from the Sea of Galilee.

2007 CBH Retreat: Renewal at The Cove
Church of God Ministries, CBH: Christians Broadcasting Hope
|
The recent 2007 Christians Broadcasting Hope Retreat to The Cove, located at the Billy Graham Training Center in Asheville, North Carolina, was an absolutely wonderful time of renewal and fellowship with friends. Hosted by ViewPoint host Jim Lyon, this annual retreat brings people from across the United States together at the warm and friendly environment of The Cove. Each year, CBH sponsors this event as a way for CBH listeners to get away and have no other agenda except that of experiencing the presence of God in a way that will renew and rejuvenate them so that they can return home ready to once again dive back into life with a fresh perspective. Life is so busy that we seldom take time away to simply be renewed. This is a time for just that.

Radio's Long Reach
CBH: Christians Broadcasting Hope
|
|
By Jim Lyon, ViewPoint Speaker
Radio remains, nearly one hundred years after it was first introduced, the world’s most accessible medium. Yes, television is compelling, with its combination of both sight and sound. And yes, the Internet is making the world smaller, with its endless array of Web sites and interactive possibilities. Print media and motion pictures hold their own. But more billions (that’s not a typo—yes, billions) of people can tune into a radio broadcast than can be touched by any other form of mass media.
