Jim and Dorothy SharpWith great joy, Global Missions welcomes the return of former career missionaries, Jim and Dorothy Sharp. The Sharps have been asked to fill a need for short-term work in Uganda. Jim and Dorothy will provide administrative assistance in several medical clinics and pastoral care for clinic staff. They will also assist the Kampala churches with discipleship.

Dorothy, a native of Alabama, graduated in 1954 from Anderson College (now University).  Jim hails from Louisiana and graduated from both Anderson College and Anderson School of Theology. He also holds a ThM and Dmiss from Fuller Seminary School of World Missions. (now the School of Intercultural Studies)

The Sharps first began their missionary service with the Church of God in 1961 at Mwihila Secondary School in Kenya.  Subsequent assignments included work at Ibeno Mission Station, Kima Theological College (now Kima International School of Theology) and Babati Bible School. Prior to serving in Africa, Jim pastored the First Church of God in Columbia, LA and Longview Church of God in Vinemont, AL. He was also active in state ministries and Christian education. The Sharps have two adult children, Patricia and Mark.
