Heritage Hymn Sing Moves to Monday

The 2008 Heritage Hymn Sing-a-Long has been shifted to Monday evening, recognizing the importance of this year’s unique Sunday evening service. So, it will be held on Monday evening, at 9:15 pm, in Reardon Auditorium.
These Heritage Sings were begun in 2000 by Paul Yerden and Robert Nicholson to give opportunity to sing the great songs that have lifted and inspired the Church of God movement from its early days. Dean Schield has now joined us in leadership. The Sing packed out two earlier locations (Byrum Hall and Park Place Church), so we now enjoy the spaciousness and good facilities of Reardon Auditorium.
So what do we do? We sing—twenty or so of our great heritage songs. Just great singing! Which of our songs will we sing this year? Well, you’ll have to come and see. But you will know them and will enjoy them. The sound of fifteen hundred voices singing lustily—sometimes devotionally—is wonderful.
So many people asked for recordings of these Sings that we began doing DVDs, CDs, and VHS tapes. All proceeds go to support student scholarships at Kima International School of Theology (KIST) in Kenya. This is a wonderful outreach; to date, proceeds have underwritten forty-five scholarships. You may choose to purchase any of these for take-home singing or listening.
You can stay for the entire general worship service this evening and still walk over to Reardon Auditorium for the Heritage Hymn Sing at 9:15 pm. We hope you will join us!
