Don’t Miss a Thing! 2009 Missions Centennial
Church of God Ministries, Church of God - General, Global Missions

By Dan Harman

Global Missions centennial logoTwice a day, in the afternoon and evening worship services, Christian brothers and sisters from around the world will share the spotlight at the 2009 North American Convention of the Church of God. Next June’s version of our annual get-together is one you’ll want to plan for and nail down. Stay alert for every facet of the exciting days with our friends from around the globe. This celebration of one hundred years of Church of God global evangelism will seem to go nonstop.

Let us look at some of the daily blessings that will fill your heart with joy:

  • International directors of Children of Promise, the Church of God child sponsorship program, will be traveling to Anderson to be part of this historic celebration.
  • Special guest speaker Milfred Minatrea, consultant and author of The Missianal Church, an insightful book on evangelism, will share with us.
  • Kardatzke Wellness Center will feature a gallery of photographs of ministry around the globe.
  • Following the convention, Global Missions of the Church of God Ministries will host a Global Conversation for exchange and dialogue with the missionaries and international church leaders in attendance.
  • We will be informed and inspired about how Church of God associations in other countries send out their own missionaries, penetrating limited-access regions of the world.
  • Carma Wood will be the major worship planner for the evening worship services.
This historic gathering will do two tremendous things, according to Doris Dale, NAC Centennial Celebration chair: “It will give visibility to today’s larger church around the globe and give perspective as to where we have come from in spreading the gospel during the past century.”

Someone recently stated, “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the whole North American family were here in Anderson to meet and welcome our brothers and sisters from around the world?” The 2009 convention plans to do just that. It’s a must-see event of a lifetime. Be there!
