Hatch reports progress in supporting ministry
By David Farlow
The Church of God Foundation has helped congregations, individuals, and agencies of the church learn about the benefits that planned giving can have on ministry—that was the report given to the Foundation’s board members during their annual meeting Saturday. In spite of the negative effects of the troubled economy, progress is being made in helping churches and individuals leave a lasting legacy for ministry through the support offered by the Foundation.
“The downturn in the United States and global economies is affecting our congregations and their members,” informed Ken Hatch, the Foundation’s secretary-treasurer. “However, we celebrate the fact that many congregations from across the country have contacted us to discuss how the Foundation can support their local ministries.”
Two of the recent additions to the Foundation’s family are Salem Church of God, Clayton, Ohio, and Children of Promise; both of which have established endowments with the Foundation.
Hatch also reported that a growing number of individuals from across the church have subscribed and are now benefiting from the financial advice included in the Foundation’s free weekly e-newsletter.
