Rev. Jeannette Flynn has announced that she would be stepping down from her position as the Kingdom Ministry Team Director at Church of God Ministries.  This well-known ministry leader, preacher, teacher, coach, and pastor has served the Church of God movement in a variety of positions at the national offices over the last fifteen years.

“For a number of months, my husband Chuck and I have been thinking deeply, talking much, and earnestly praying for wisdom and guidance concerning our lives and ministry,” said Flynn.  “It is out of that journey that we have decided to end my time of service with Church of God Ministries.” She will conclude her assignment at the national offices on October 31, 2009.

“Jeannette has provided the church with an exemplary model of a Spirit-filled servant leader as she has served at the national offices,” said Dr. Ronald Duncan, general director for Church of God Ministries. “It is impossible to summarize her contribution to the church. She has been a driving force in the development of several key ministry initiatives that have made and will continue to make a powerful difference within the body and for the Kingdom. Her leadership, insights, and counsel will be missed.”

Flynn is known for her dynamic leadership.  She played a leading role in the development of Communion in an effort to connect with and resource ministry leaders in the local congregation.  Under her leadership the national offices established coordinators for National Prayer Ministry and Church Multiplication to facilitate and encourage health and growth of congregations.  She also led the effort in securing two grants totaling nearly $3 million from the Lilly Endowment for the Sustaining Health and Pastoral Excellence (SHAPE) program.  This proactive program designed to transform the culture of ministry is connecting and strengthening pastors for long-term healthy ministries.  
 
In reflecting on her time of service, Flynn commented, “I can not express the wonderful expanse of opportunities, experiences, development, growth, and blessings my fifteen-plus years of service at the national offices have provided. I have had the honor of working with the most incredible team of fellow laborers anyone could be privileged to serve with.”  

Commenting on her future plans Flynn stated, “While I am leaving my current position, I am not leaving my calling to ministry.  Chuck and I are trusting and praying that God might yet have a place of significant Kingdom ministry that we could be involved in as the future unfolds.  All of those matters are hidden from our eyes and knowledge at this time, but our hearts are full of faith that God is not done with us yet.”
