Credentials Materials
The intent of the Credentials Manual is to provide the basis forstandards and processes to be used by all recognized ministerialcredentialing units associated with the Church of God movement (Anderson, Indiana) in the United States and Canada. It intends to putbiblical foundations into definitional and operational terms for thecurrent recognition and practice of Christian ministry in the Church ofGod movement. It attempts to reflect the proper balance betweenlegitimate autonomy and needed authority in the church's life.
The parties for whom the Credentials Manual is made available here for downloading include:
prospective ministers wanting to become credentialed;practicing ministers wanting to know responsibilities for maintaining credentials;congregations wanting to know what their obligations are;persons from other faith-groups looking for information on Church of God polity;attorneys or law-enforcement agencies wanting to know specific policies followed for preventing abuse;Church of God Ministries as it coordinates services and initiates the annual Yearbook preparation.
