Service. Giving. Stewardship. Are they the same? Are they different? Are they connected? How do we approach these timeless truths in the "new economy" of the twenty-first century? How do we preach these truths in a relevant fashion? These are some of the questions which will be addressed in Monday's conference, "How to Preach Stewardship Effectively," led by Kerry B. Robinson, pastor of East Side Church of God, Anderson, Indiana.

The task of preaching in a rapidly changing culture is always a challenge. The task of preaching about the values of life in that culture raises the challenge to an even higher level. While no conference setting can provide all the answers for any subject, there are some foundational concepts that allow those of us called to communicate God's truth to do so with effectiveness. It is my hope that pastors of congregations of all sizes will find the roundtable nature of this conference session beneficial for their current and future ministry. Developed out of the experiences of preaching stewardship in three congregations ranging in size from 120 to 1400 people, this conference offers a candid, practical look at the effects of long-term stewardship development in the life of a local congregation.

The "How to Preach Stewardship Effectively" conference will be held on Monday, June 27, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm, in the Church of God Ministries Outreach Conference Room.
